I have the iPaq model hx2490b, with WM5 installed, spanish distribution. I
have performed a full hardware reset to avoid anything interferes. I have
installed Microsoft reader (latest spanish version avalaible on the web) and
I have activated it.

When I try to add a "text note", the note window pops up over the text. It
allows me to write on it, but when I click outside to save the note, the
following error appears:

"The parameter is incorrect (ox80070057)".

I have also noticed that any annotations are saved after manually closing
Microsoft Reader or changing the book: No bookmark, highlight, text note nor
Drawing.

¿Can it be a compatibility issue with this iPAQ model?

We are here we are just trying to reproduce the issue. Can you tell me if
the title you are trying to annotate was purchased or created using a tool
like Readerworks or the Word add-in? Any details you can provide will help
is narrow this issue down a bit further. In the meantime you may want to
check and see if you have remaining space free at the location where you
store your books. The Reader creates a file with a .EBO extension that
houses your annotations. If you do not have enough space to create this
file you might see the behavior you mentioned in your previous post.

After a couple of days experiencing troubles to post here, I´m finally ready
to give you an answer.

-Yes, I have also reproduced the issue with an e-book purchased in Ebookmall
(TM) "Les fausses confidences". I don´t use the reader plug-in.

-I have enough space to store the .EBO files (96MB in the internal memory
card). I usually check the EBO file associated to the e-book I am reading in
that moment, and it´s astonishing; it does not always grow when I make any
change, but it does by every now and then.

- I have noticed that the error appears less now than a week ago, almost 10%
of the times I try to add an annotation. The only change I have made in my
PDA is to install a navigation software ¿?

- I have also spoken with HP technical assistance and they have found more
cases like mine in their incidences database. They say that nothing goes
wrong with my PDA when I am asked to reproduce for them the facts

I have a hx2940b English iPAQ.

I get the same issue. If I add a bookmark, or any annotation, it will
not appear when I next open the ebook. Doesn't matter whether it's a
purchased ebook or a free one or a lit file I have created from a word
document (using the ereader utility)

Makes no difference if the ebook is on a SD or CF card, or in main
memory with all the cards removed.

G'day Christine, yeah. Every book I've opened has an ebo file. I can
therefore go to "most recent page" but no annotations are saved.
