I was wondering if there are still plans to make the read-in-reader add in
available for Word 2007?

Rule 62,

We have not discounted the possibility of releasing an update for the Read
in Reader add-in for Word 2007 but to date do not currently have any firm
plans in place. Please keep checking back for further information.

Is it possible to use the current add-in with MS Office 2003 on a
Vista system? I keep installing the add-in but it won't show up in
Word (2003). I tried what the help section from the MS Reader add in
page said. I did Tools > Options > Security Tab > Macro Security
button. "Trust All Installed Add-ins" option was already selected.
The second option Tools > Com Add-ins doesn't exist.

I use this A Lot. If I'd known nothing would work with Vista I would
have stayed with my old computer.

Janet,

For the add-in to show up in Word 2003 on Vista the dll
(WordRMRComAddin.dll) needs to be in the appropriate folder under \Program
Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Office11. This should enable this to
work.

If you continue to experience issues please contact me and I will do my best
to assist you futher.

Msreadergirl,

So I just upgraded to office 2007 pro and my msreader plugin gets an CSS
error due to sansarif font or something like that.. is there a fix for that
or should I revert to office 2003.

Msreadergirl,

I am having the same issue as AweStun. I have tried with multiple files and
always get an error stating that something about CSS "serif" isn't compatible
with prior versions of Reader. I would appreciate any help you can give.

Drisanna and AweStun,

The reason that you are getting these errors is because of a change in the
way that the file is persisted in Word 2007. We haven't yet revised our
add-in to recognize these new constructs. You can try the following three
things-

1. If you have a previous version of the file from 2003 make sure that when
you import it into Word 2007 that you don't upgrade the file and that you
save as Word 2003 before you convert it. The idea here being that you want
it to be as close to a 2003 file as possible.
2. Try formatting the document for Reader (this is one of the selections in
the add-in dialog).
3. Roll back to 2003 (Only as a last option)

Please let me know how this worked for you.

Sincerely,
Christine - Microsoft Reader Team
