Yes Brian,
Folks from MS do look here but we don't monitor it daily as usually we just
do this on our off hours to help our customers. So while our assistance may
be sporadic we do listen.
In order to help you I need to know a little more about your activation
process. Did you have any problems initially activating the device? Have
you added or removed any storage cards from the device? Where are your
books stored? How did you get your books from your computer to your device?
All of these things can make a difference.
I have heard of some folks who have copied their activation files from one
device to another or copied them back after a re-image. This won't work
becuase you have a new hardware id after doing this. If you have activated
and gotten the "pocket pc 2002" error at any time before successful
activation this could also cause issues especially if you needed to copy the
OEMInfo.xml file prior to activation. When you get the crash or exit
behavior this is often because the device was not soft reset after copying
the file and before activation.
Please try the following-
Cradle the device
On your PC open activesync and go to Tools | Add/remove programs
Select Microsoft Activation
Click the "Remove" button in the "Remove from both locations" section in the
dialog
Uncradle your device
Delete any hidden litpath.lpt files from your device, storage card and PC
activesync device directory (usually on the desktop)
Soft reset your device
Cradle your device
If you are using a storage card ensure that you have the storage card
installed in your device prior to activating
Reactivate once again from
http://das.microsoft.com/activate/en-us/default.asp
When prompted ensure that you are installing the activation to your device
and not your storage card.
Try opening your protected content.
If this doesn't work you may need to delete your .ebo files from your device
and storage card during the litpath removal step. NOTE: This will delete
your annotations.
Please let me know if this does not resolve your issue.
Sincerely,
Christine - Microsoft Reader Team

ok..... MicroshitReader said that it was authorized yesterday but now it
says that it isn't.... Does anyone from MS even look here?????
Post by BrianExact same issue here.....
Reader 2.4.1 - activated finally....
Win XP
several ebooks
When I tap on any of the books that I own, the reader crashes. I can
however open the reader help book......
Post by ComicBookGuyI have MS Reader 2.4.1 installed on an HTC Hermes running WM6, successfully
activated.
I have a number of purchased, protected ebooks (the latest purchased just
two days ago), which I cannot open - if I select one, MS Reader simply exits,
and I am back at whatever was onscreen prior to Reader being launched.
There
is no error message of any kind.
Initially, MS Reader was installed to the memory card, but I have removed
this and reinstalled it to main RAM, but still with the same problem.
I have
also removed activation files, and re-activated several times (the activation
files were always stored in main RAM), but this has not alleviated the
problem.
Could someone here help?
Thanks.
