gather that someone from Microsoft occasionally replies to questions in this
forum. If anyone from Microsoft is reading this, please respond, even if it
is to say you have no suggestions.

"When the battery ran out on my iPAQ 1950 running PPC 2002 Pro, I had to
reinstall MS Reader. I used the loader file I had used originally -
MSReaderPPCSetup.exe - to successfully install version 2.00.1128. I then
activated it using my existing passport. I copied various books from my PC to
the iPAQ. I can read uncopyrighted books, but I get the ...no longer able...
message whenever I try to open a copyrighted book. I can read all books on my
PC (same files). I have tried reactivating, reloading, deleting LitPath.lpt,
deleting everything in the Annotations folder, and reloading the book files.
All these efforts failed. Please help."

Any suggestion would be welcome. If anyone knows that this configuration is
not supported, please respond. - Thanks.

Seeker,

When you were deleting litpath and annotations files were you also deleting
them from your sync folder? If your device is set to constantly sync when
cradled deleting them from the device alone won't help as it will only
resync your old files again. Please let me know if this does not resolve
your issue and I will try and assist you further.

Sincerely,

Thanks for this suggestion. To my knowledge, I don't have a sync folder on my
desktop system. When I connect the Pocket PC, I always set it up as a
"guest". I have searched the desktop's hard drive for litpath.* and do not
find it. One possible clue to the problem: I notice that no matter what I do,
I can't get Reader on the Pocket PC to indicate that it is activated for
***@worldpost.com. Since I have re-loaded Reader, whenever I activate, it
goes smoothly (no error messages) but then Reader says it is "Activated for
Microsoft Reader". Does it matter that ***@worldpost.com is no longer a
valid email address? I ditched that account to escape the spam. Thanks for
your support.

Ditto here. My activation reads the same. I think that's just generic
though.
Still no solution here for my annotations either. Reinstall/deinstall
etc don't fix it.

I reinstalled the readerfix as well, but that didn't make any change.

I see in another thread that the file OEMInfo.xml may be required. I don't
find that on my iPaq (which is a model h1910, it seems). I looked on HP's web
site and was unable to locate it there. Could that be the missing piece.
Another web site suggested that if I couldn't find it, I should write to

I'm very frustrated by the fact that I seem to need to nag you and/or other
readers of this newsgroup to get responses. How long is it polite to wait
before re-posting?

I gather that you are a Microsoft employee. Do you know of any other
resources can I draw upon to try to resolve this problem?

I'm REALLY resisting paying Microsoft to answer what should be a
straightforward question: Is my configuration (iPaq 1910) supported? If so,
how do I get the software to work?
