Discussion:
Annotations don't work
(too old to reply)

G'day,

hp IPAQ 2490b WM5.

I've got the latest Reader, and the hx activation fix. The reader on
the PPC is activated

If I add a bookmark, it will appear in the annotations menu while I
have the book open. If I close the book and open another one, or close
reader and come back in, the annotations are no longer there. However,
it remembers the most recent page, or the furthest read page.

Any thoughts?

I'm also having issues reading DRM's books from my old, now dead iPAQ.
I was going to reactivate, but not sure if I should.

TIA

Wally:

Check and make sure that .EBO files are being written out for each of the
books that you open. These file are usually written out in a folder called
"Annotations" in the directory where your books (.lit files) are located.
The last page/furthest read pages are kept in a hidden file called
litpath.lpt so this is why you would see a difference. If you are out of
file space where your books are located this might be one reason why your
annotations are not being written out.

Please let me know if this information does not help you resolve your
situation.

Sincerely,
Christine - Microsoft Reader Team

I´m experiencing the same trouble. I have HP iPAQ hx2490b model and
Microsoft Reader v 2.11.15.0. System gives me an error (0x80070057 "parameter
is incorrect) when trying to save a text note added. It happens to occur the
same with older versions of Microsoft reader.
